Ensure the OEB’s regulatory reporting requirements deliver valuable, accurate and reliable reporting that can support policy and application decisions.
Lead the OEB’s benchmarking studies (e.g. total cost benchmarking) and develop complementary benchmarking studies (e.g. activity and program-based benchmarking) to assess the performance of the utilities and encourage continuous improvement in the sector.
Manage a team of data analysts, finance professionals and policy experts who act with a fair degree of independence in undertaking assignments and developing reports.
Define job responsibilities, establish and monitor performance, provide regular performance feedback, conduct performance appraisals and manage employee and labour relations.
Lead the projects/initiatives as assigned by the Vice President such as productivity studies, and development of new reporting models.
Provide advice and support to OEB members and executive on policy and procedures which support performance assessment and reporting in accordance with legislation and regulatory requirements.
Work with the Vice President to coordinate the resources for performance analytics and reporting, developing strategic and divisional business plans, including financial, budget and resource planning, proactively identifying resource needs to fill departmental gaps.
Develop stakeholder engagement plans, as required, when introducing new initiatives or refreshing current initiatives.
Brief senior management and the Board on new developments, emerging issues and trends.
Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (e.g. Political Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics)
5 + years’ management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate and manage a high performance team
7 + years’ experience in increasingly senior roles in corporate performance assessment and data analysis
Experience in/knowledge of the energy utility sector is highly desirable
Strategic planning skills to formulate plans incorporating all relevant perspectives, constraints, risks and costs
Strong communication skills (oral, written & presentation) with previous experience with drafting reports and recommendations
Analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations
