CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Business Analyst, IT who will be involved with the successful implementation of Information Technology initiatives. The Business Analyst will work in a dynamic environment on multiple initiatives varying in size and complexity, across a variety of technology platforms. Working closely with project management and technical teams, this role will involve gathering detailed requirements, liaising with multiple stakeholders and instructing the solution development team as appropriate to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Requirements elicitation using a variety of methods including but not limited to, workshops, focus groups, document analysis, observation etc.
Building a variety of documentation based on gathered requirements including Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements Document, user stories current and future state process flows, change requests, requirements traceability matrix, data dictionary, use cases etc.
Contribution to Solution Design Document in collaboration with technology teams
Gains/acquires sound to advanced understanding of business and user interaction with technology throughout solution design, testing and implementation
Assess change requests and their impacts, checking for alignment to initiative objectives at all stages
Conduct peer and stakeholder reviews of the design and testing deliverables to ensure the solution meets the initiative objectives and to obtain formal approval on solution design
Create detailed Test Execution Plans, test cases and scripts
Coordinate multiple business and stakeholder groups and facilitate the execution of test cases and test scripts
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required
A minimum of 7 years relevant work experience in Business Analysis with a strong focus on Information Technology projects is required.
Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis, quality assurance, project delivery practices and standards across the project life-cycle is required
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA); and/or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) - Project Management Institute are highly preferred
Strong facilitation skills required
Formal training in business analysis and/or project management is highly preferred
Experience working with Salesforce administration and/or configuration is preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Powerpoint, Project, Visio) is required
Advanced to expert knowledge of Jira is preferred
Superior analytical skills required to quickly understand how various elements relate to one another at an enterprise level is required
Creative troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required in order to identify technical/process solutions to resolve business problems in a rapidly changing, demanding and complex business environment required
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and relationship building skills required in order to deliver proposals, gather business requirements, and contribute perspective to aid in stakeholder decision making
Outstanding communication and influencing skills required to drive dialogue with business partners and to understand their underlying needs and requirements, while managing their expectations given the limitations of the framework
